Laine Welch is the owner and operator of Alaska Fish Factor.  Laine has been covering the 'fish beat' for 25 years. She began in New England with daily broadcasts of fish landings and prices from Boston and New Bedford fish auctions. Laine relocated to Alaska in 1986 and has hosted radio programs and written for newspapers and trade journals ever since.   Laine also worked for many years in seafood processing and “behind the counter” in retail and wholesale seafood businesses in New England and Alaska.
